Me & E

A couple of weeks ago Ethan and I had a Friday date and it was so much fun hanging out with him. We went to Target and I told him he could pick one treat as part of our date. After 45 minutes of debating through every toy aisle, we walked away with a transformer. We went to lunch and then headed for the big surprise – a show at UTA’s planetarium. Well, when we got to the ticket window the teenager working very politely told us that the show had been cancelled that afternoon for a private event. Great. It actually turned out okay because we just spent some time walking around the campus. Ethan was fascinated with all of the college students and the big buildings. We walked in one of the buildings and I realized how long it’s been since I’ve been on a college campus. I guess all academic buildings have the same feel, smell, etc. because as soon as I stepped in the door I felt like I was back in 1997 going to a bio lab or something. Anyway, after that we headed to the mall to use a Build-a-Bear gift card and successfully added BatDog to our family. When we were driving home I asked Ethan what his favorite part of the day was. His answer? Driving around in circles at the top of the parking garage because I let him hang his head out the window. I’ll remember that next time I plan an elaborate day.
I love that your date included a trip to Target.
June 29th, 2009 at 2:28 pmHow fun! Luke and I are hopefully going on a “date” this weekend to see Ice Age (if Marc doesn’t try to steal my date away from me, that is). I love when I get to hang with my lil’ man too:) They are so sweet, aren’t they?
June 29th, 2009 at 9:03 pmSoooo sweet! Sounds like the kind of ‘date’ I would go for too…espeically the Target part! Ha! These little guys are growing up too fast…gotta get in all the dates we can before we get shoved aside for a ‘real girl’! Sniff.
July 1st, 2009 at 1:40 amSounds like fun! We’ve got some Build a Bear gift cards to use also, but I’m waiting for it to get really hot.
July 1st, 2009 at 11:46 amIsn’t it funny how it’s the part we don’t plan is always their favorite? I wish I could remember that when I’m planning the big outings. Sounds like you guys had a blast. And, thanks again for volunteering to take Amiya with you guys on Monday. She is really excited.
July 1st, 2009 at 11:02 pmHow funny! Joel and I have had a few dates that include Target — and getting a transformer! He likes to go to the snack bar and get a treat and just hang out there.
